The music of Banda has more band members then any other mexican style. Mostly consist of 15 or more members in it. A band can be distinguished by the following instruments: Snare drum, Bass drum, Cymbals, trumpets, trombones, tuba, clarinets and congas (not necessary) all in one to form a complete "Banda". The key instruments that will make a Banda sound like one are the Tuba, Snare Drum, and Bass Drum. Of course the rest of the instruments are crucial to have in the Banda but for the foreign ear, one of the easiest ways to distinguish Banda from other Mexican music styles is if you here the Tuba. 99% of the time you will be correct if you say its a Banda and plus once you here all the instruments together being played it creates a big sound which is easy to recognize a Banda. Banda can be pure sound but it widely has a singer in it. Have in mind that some Bandas may incorporate other instruments such as keyboard and electric bass guitar and others to change its sound and make it a bit more orginal. Same applies for other styles of Mexican music.
